Dear First Baptist Family,

It does not seem all that long ago that David and I arrived here in Princeton with Lydia (7 y.o.) and Andrew (almost 3 y.o.). Thank you so much for all that you have done for our family these last 29 years. We have been so blessed to have been able to worship, to live, to work, to teach and to raise our children here with you.

The last few months have been very difficult for our family. We could not have made it without all of your prayers, your love and your support. Special thanks go to Delora Bowling, Brenda and Danielle Lee for taking care of Barney ( our 12 year old diabetic poodle), and to Randy Peek for keeping our lawn mowed. Thanks for all the cards, food, flowers and gifts. Thank you to the youth for their “care package” and sweet notes.

Thank you to all the church staff and members that worked so hard to make David’s Celebration of Life such an amazing day. The four of us were in David’s ICU room when he planned his order of worship. When he said that he wanted Lydia and Andrew to speak, I almost said, “David, that will be so hard on them!” I am so thankful that the Lord kept me from saying anything because that was my favorite part! David lives on through them. Thank you to everyone that helped provide the wonderful meals for our family that day.

David and I had planned that when he retired, we would move to Jonesboro, Arkansas to be near our daughter Lydia and her family – with frequent visits back to West Virginia to be with Andrew and his family. David encouraged me to go ahead and sell our home here and move to Jonesboro. I covet your prayers and help as I begin that process.

Thank you to all of you that have given and/or will be giving in David’s memory to help pay for the family life center.

With much love,
Maribeth H. Dockery Lydia, Justin, George and Thomas Parkey Andrew, Maggie, Jack and Will Dockery
